On August 14, Jeju island announced that it will renovate the aged Jeju Film & Culture Industry Promotion Agency by investing KRW 10 billion by 2020, starting from September.
It was constructed as a folk tourism town in 1996, and has been struggling for use due to aging. In particular, a 340-seats art hall has been left ideal since 2016, which was used exclusively for Nanta performance before.
The province plans to turn the art hall into a black box-type theater accommodating various contents, while making underground floors and separate building as a place for joint creativity and networking.
It will also expand rest and community space for residents' use, rearranging space by function, and improve outdoor parking spots.
