Jeju Special Self- Governing Provincial Office of Education ran a two day international workshop named ‘2019 Jeju International Symposium on Education’ from Nov. 22 at the Halla Univ. convention center.

The symposium, sponsored by Jeju Special Self- Governing Provincial Office of Education, was prepared to share the global trend of future education, a vision for educational role of public schools and the way to develop future learning in Jeju.

The president of Seoul National Univ. Oh Se-Jung and the head of International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) appeared on stage as keynote speakers. The president ran a lecture titled ‘How to train future talents in the era of the 4th industrialization’ right after the opening ceremony on the first day of the event. On Nov. 23, there was a lecture delivered by the head of IBO under the theme of ‘IB programs to enhance personal capacity necessary for the future.’

Along with a couple of lectures provided by two keynote speakers, a series of debate and workshop sessions were open. In addition, over a hundred cases in an effort to be innovative in real classes were shared with the audiences.

The city official said “Fully understanding the main topic of the event and what it means to be, the head of IBO joined this time. Hope that the symposium could become the place to raise public awareness of the way towards future learning and education in Korea.”
