Jeju, set to pour as much as KRW 100 bln into nature preservation work

According to Yonhap News,

Jeju Island announced on Dec. 31, 2019 that the province is scheduled to inject as much as KRW 100 billion in the form of national budget into multiple projects, mainly in order to improve living conditions, slashing fine dust in the air and to well manage conservation areas. Further specifically, subsequent business they’re planning to push for is nature preservation, water resources treatment and the improvement in natural resorts in the island.

First, the province will spend KRW 1.7 billion on the establishment of the community ecology center through which residents in the island can come to learn more of local ecosystem, KRW 4.5 billion on reclamation work, KRW 1.9 billion on the change in education system teaching environmental sustainability and KRW 29.4 billion on rain water harvesting.

Additionally, the rest of the budget, KRW 57.6 billion, will go to other types of projects such as KRW 9.3 billion for air quality control, KRW 15.3 billion for garbage disposal and KRW 4.2 billion for wild life reclamation near Mt. Halla.
