According to Yonhap News,

Korean traditional cookies, particularly processed with Jeju mandarin, have reportedly become a real hit worldwide. Jeju Agriculture Research & Extension Service (ARES) said that they first opened its export channel to the US market last December to sell the Jeju mandarin favored cookies. This time, nearly 8,000 boxes of Jeju cookies (commercially worth USD 30,000) were on their way to the U.S. again on Feb. 5.

The first shipment helped farmers in Jeju raise the sales as much as KRW 2.5 billion. The cookies are made and processed with seven local female farmers growing mandarin orange trees in the Island. This brand new snack is also happy news to local farmers as they’ve become a good source of income to many Jeju farmers, who found extra channels to sell over a hundred boxes of mandarin fruits every year.
