Jeju to form a direct retail platform where fresh Jeju products are marketable
Jeju Island announced on Mar. 30 that the provincial authorities will newly implement an online retail outlets, through which Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation(aT) overhauls conventional distribution system into a direct retail platform where an independent sales channel arrangement is valid.
Jeju Province provides financial supports covering packaging and shipping cost for local farmers, while running ads and marketing content to promote locally grown agro-products in aT.
Aside from above mentioned programs, the authorities also set up a plan to form sales networks with grocery stores and meal service providers to supply Jeju products throughout the year, adding more items to be marketed. There will be an incentive for those who take part in the new approach to the direct retail system.
