According to Yonhap News,

A healthcare service center, a key to healthcare town in Seoguipo city started to break ground on May 27.

Jeju Free International City Development Center (JDC) announced the launch of the construction project to have a three story medical service center building which will set up on a 9,000㎡ site inside the healthcare town. It’s reported that JDC’s funds to make the project underway totals as much as KRW 29.6 billion.

JDC said, the ground breaking work will lay a foundation for the overall project to accommodate and resume operation of the town.

China’s Greenland Group, a stakeholder of the town building project, has put an end to the construction project, setting up a resort facility and Greenland international hospital, which sprawl across 153,913㎡ near Donghong-dong in Seoguipo city by the year 2016. The second phase of the project was supposed to start to build up an additional hospitality services, Healingspiral hotel and Telasoresort, but the process was suddenly halted since June in 2017, due to troubles resulted from non-payment for constructors.

Greeland group redeemed the overdue payment, worth KRW 161.4 billion, and made extra investment of KRW 107.2 billion to complete the project.
JDC said negotiations to move ahead are now underway with its Chinese counterpart and soon to make progress.
