According to Yonhap News,

Remote medical care based upon 5G networks appears to go into service in Jeju Island.

The provincial authorities said on Oct 18 that they start to promote non-face-to-face integrated care and digital healthcare implementation business targeting vulnerable group of citizens. They plan to distribute health measuring devices in community centers island-wide to help the elderly enjoy healthcare services remotely.

In addition, people with chronic illness seem to be able to be connected with community health centers to get physical checkups and medical treatment with doctors online. The same service is available for residents staying in Udo and Marado.

Raising KRW 7 billion funds with KT, Jeju Island pushes for the project by the end of this year.
