The 7th International Electric Vehicle Expo (IEVE) celebrated its grand opening of the largest annual event on Dec 9 in Jeju Island. To avoid any possible COVID-19 infections caused by in-person transaction, the expo committee changed the formation, hosting the three day event online till Dec 11.

This year’s event programs put greater emphasis on catching a glimpse of the future mobility ecosystem and the industry trends and outlook which is moving toward sustainable, greener future.

On Dec 9, Simon Smith, a British ambassador to the Republic of Korea and Peter Winkler, Deputy Head of Mission of German Embassy in Seoul delivered a keynote speech with title of ‘Prior to COP26, UK’s Climate Leadership’ and ‘Post COVID-19 Green Resilience and Climate Adaption’ each at the Global Workshop on Energy and Climate Change. On the second and the final day of the event, a series of sessions which include a virtual business workshop under the topic of EV redesigning and safety, the 2nd self-driving agricultural vehicle forum, 5th EV international standard forum, an academic seminar on energy transition to greener sources and 2nd Korea’s EV policy forum were held.

There was the 4th Global EV Round Table, co-hosted by Global EV Association Network and International Expo Committee on Dec 11, in which world leaders invited- the incumbent president of Expo Committee, head of New Paradigm Institute and Osama Hassanein, chairman of Rising Tide, a Silicon Valley based venture capitalist signed a partnership MOU.
