According to Yonhap News,

Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is in the budget target setting process to secure KRW 1.55 trillion next year. In order to be in keeping with the government’s relief package, called the Korean New Deal, along with economic stimulus program instituted in the communities, Jeju Island set the highest goals for budgets, said the provincial authorities on Feb 16. The targeted amount to be budgeted next year is up 4.5% from this year’s KRW 1.483 trillion and a 3.7% jump from KRW 1.493 trillion allocated last year.

Under the chairmanship of the province governor, Jeju Island has held a monthly meeting, identifying a business project to lead the community’s development since December last year.

The authorities’ goals for the budget include the establishment of charging stations for fuel cell cars (KRW 5.55 bln), the employment subsidies (KRW 4 bln), installation of smart data-sharing system across public parking lots islandwide (KRW 7.5 bln), waste water system maintenance and repair (KRW 1.6 bln) and the formation of the communities’ food grade warehouse to be supplied to schools across the Island (KRW 11 bln).
