On July 15, Jeju-si said "Public Parking Lot Smart-Comprehensive Parking Monitoring System" project, a Jeju-style digital new deal, has been selected for additional 2021 Regional Development New Deal project organized by the Presidential Committee for Balanced Regional Development.
The Committee selected 40 projects in total (total project expense of KRW 626.9 billion) through comprehensive evaluation on 116 projects submitted from 79 cities, counties, and boroughs.
Jeju's project to establish a public parking lot smart-comprehensive parking monitoring system is to integrate parking monitoring system, which is currently operated separately.
The city plans to establish a system for two years (2022-2023) with KRW 2.5 billion, monitoring parking lot information real-time, and provide parking information online by connecting with portal site and applications.
Once the system is completed, it is expected to contribute to resolving traffic congestion and parking problems in the city by increasing utilization rate of parking lots and enhancing user accessibility.
