According to Newsis,

Jeju Convention Bureau announced on September 30 that it will join the 'Hybrid City Alliance' as a member.

The Hybrid City Alliance will be in charge of the hybrid meeting industry, which has become a future trend in the MICE industry since the outbreak of the COVID-19 crisis. It was established in December last year by four cities including the Hague of the Netherlands, Geneva of Switzerland, Prague of the Czech Republic, and Ottawa of Canada.

Recently, Seoul, Australia's Sydney, and South Africa's Durban have joined as member cities.

It was founded to provide hybrid solutions to consumers and suppliers of MICE events through solidarity between cities and create the culture of mutual growth rather than competition to attract MICE through harmony built by convention bureaus of each city.

With Jeju joining the Alliance, the Jeju Convention Bureau expects that Jeju will serve as a hub city in which participants from nearby countries take part online/offline if international MICE gets to be held as 'hybrid multi hub event' due to the COVID-19 and all.
