According to Yonhap News,

In order to succeed in the business of transporting goods and passengers using drones in downtown Jeju, related organizations will jointly push for a pilot project.

Jeju Province signed a MOU with Jeju Free International City Development Center (JDC) and Kencore Aerospace (KENCOA) to 'establish a drone business ecosystem and introduce urban air transportation (drone taxi)' on October 21.

Under the MOU, each organization plans to check the business of transporting tourism and medical supplies using drones, securing a safe route when using urban air traffic, and checking the radio communication environment.

The provincial government, in charge of overseeing the business of urban air transportation, plans to prepare an operational system and provide related administrative support.

It also supports communication with residents in the nearby area where urban air transportation operates.

JDC will envision the industrialization of urban air traffic and will support companies' pilot adoption, while KENCOA will provide companies with pilot drone operation and service.

The province declared a drone vision and pushed for demonstrated urban air traffic on November 21, last year.
