According to Newsis,

There will be a venue to explore the direction of Jeju wellness tourism industry.

Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) said on December 6 that it will hold, together with Jeju Province, the 'International Forum for Wellness Tourism in Asia ' through live online broadcasting for two days on December 10-11.

The forum, held under the subject of 'Working towards a harmonious integration of nature, people and culture', will examine the trends of global tourism and wellness tourism that are changing due to COVID-19, and discuss ways to create an ecosystem for the wellness tourism industry in Jeju.

In particular, it is planned to share the cases of overseas wellness tourism, analyze the current situation in Jeju, and explore tasks that lie ahead.

'Wellness' is a compound word of well-being, happiness, and fitness. Wellness tourism refers to tourism for health and a happy life. It is not a simple trip for a temporary rest, but a new travel mode that combines travel with a program for healing and health.

This event will be broadcast live online on YouTube's 'wellness jeju' channel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the forum, experts related to wellness tourism from home and abroad, including Global Wellness Institute (GWI), the Netherlands, and Bali will be participating.

Starting with a keynote lecture by an official from the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) , GWI CEO Susie Ellis will give a presentation.

Then, there will be presentation in the order of: Japanese farm and wellness cases; Bali wellness tourism cases; Dutch wellness care farm cases; domestic wellness tourism cases by Professor Jang Tae-soo of Dankook University; and plans for creation of an wellness tourism industry ecosystem in Jeju by JTO's President.

There will be discussion on the subject of 'The current status and future direction of Korea's wellness tourism policy' on December 10, followed by 'Measures to create an ecosystem for the wellness tourism industry as a key industry of Jeju tourism' on December 11.
