Jeju-do said on February 2 that it would invest KRW 46.8 billion in informatization projects in 2022 to realize its informatization vision of 'Happy Jeju realized through intelligent information, Global Digital City Jeju'.

The province will push for 139 informatization projects in 4 areas such as ▲ ICT new technology utilization and local convergence new industry fostering ▲ Establishment of healthy information culture and provision of customized civil-service ▲Improve operation of administrative service to realize smart provincial affair management ▲Create secure cyber environment by bolstering information protection response capability

Major projects of this year include ▲establishment of C-ITS synchronized bus information system (KRW 3 billion) ▲Operation and management of open-type charger established by the province (KRW 1.5 billion) ▲Operational projects including revision of the province's representative website (KRW 6 billion) ▲Establishment of next-generational local tax information system (KRW 490 million)▲ Jeju-style shared logistics platform operation project (KRW 200 million) ▲Personal information detection and protection system operation project (KRW 600 million).

Besides the project investing the province's local budget, it has secured KRW 12.4 billion for 18 projects to invest in local informatization projects including smart city challenge project (KRW 5 billion), establishment of disaster damage scale estimation system utilizing satellite video, by actively participating various central public competition projects, hosted by the Ministry of Interior and Safety, and Ministry of Science and ICT.

The provincial government plans to hold the Jeju local informatization promotion council in February and review and confirm the local informatization implementation plan for 2022.
