According to Yonhap News,

ASEAN-KOREA Centre said on February 11 that it will build a venue to facilitate communication between Korean people and ASEAN in Jeju island.

ASEAN-KOREA Centre is an international organization established in 2009 to promote an increase in trade and investment between Korea and 10 ASEAN countries including Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia and expand cooperation in culture and tourism fields, and facilitate personnel exchanges.

The Centre will open 'Jeju ASEAN hall (tentatively)' in Jeju International Peace Center, located in Jungmun Tourism Complex located in Seogwipo-si.

The centre plans to announce that it will push for this plan as utmost priority this year in the 14th annual board of directors meeting to be held online on February 14.

It did not reveal specific dates of opening, etc., but plans to exhibit cultural contents of 10 ASEAN countries all year-round.

The centre expects that this will serve as a venue to facilitate cultural exchanges and cooperation between Korean people and ASEAN.

Along with the opening of 'Jeju ASEAN Hall', the Centre plans to play a role in strengthening sustainable and inclusive Korea-ASEAN partnership.

In detail, the centre will work on ▲Korea-ASEAN seminar for sustainable values including ESG ▲Survey of the Korea-ASEAN young people about mutual perceptions, and other cooperative projects in economy, culture, and the youth sectors.

The centre will operate about 20 projects in contactless and hybrid formats, and continue to produce and distribute fun and useful contents about culture, travel destinations, and young ASEAN people.
