Korea South-East Power (KOEN) announced on May 11 that it had embarked on construction of the Jeju Eoeum wind power generation project, which is being purused as its own wind power generation project.

KOEN announced that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 'Jeju Eum wind power generation project' at the construction site of the Eoeum wind power plant in Aewol-eup, Jeju-do, in the presence of local residents, officials from Jeju provincial office, electric power companies, and KOEN

This project is for a 21MW-class capacity facility, installing five wind power turbines of 4.2 MW with a total project cost of approximately KRW 68.8 billion on a site of 110,000 pyeong (360,000 square meters) of a common ranch in Eoeum 2-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si.

When it starts commercial operation after construction completion in May 2023, it is expected to produce 58,012 MWh of eco-friendly energy per year, which is electricity amount enough for about 16,000 households.
