According to Yonhap News,

On July 12, Doosan Enerbility announced that it signed an MOU on "Win-win cooperation regarding the realization of 2035 Jeju carbon neutrality vision through energy transition" with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

The MOU signing ceremony was attended by many officials including Jeju's governor, and vice chairman Yeonin Jung of Doosan Enerbility.

With the MOU, the two sides agreed to foster new energy industries based on renewable energy and green hydrogen and expand jobs through education support for local talent in the energy sector.

In particular, they plan to cooperate in five areas including training experts, creating jobs, long-term offshore environment monitoring, revitalizing the hydrogen ecosystem, and upcycling waste blades.

Earlier in May, Jeju-do announced its plan to become the "first carbon-free city in Asia" by reaching the carbon neutrality by 2035.

Doosan Enerbility completed the first offshore wind farm in Korea, Tamna Marine Wind Power, in Jeju in 2017, and plan to open the Jeju wind power comprehensive control center and the wind power maintenance education and training Center in upcoming November.

Vice chairman Yeonin Jung of Doosan Enerbility said, "Doosan Enerbility possess various solutions for carbon-free power generation, and will become the best partner for Jeju to realize its vision for carbon neutrality.
