According to Yonhap News,

Jeju's wellness tourism policy was selected as a leading international case in the Asia-Pacific region.

On August 29, the Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) announced that "Jeju Wellness Tourism Policy" won the Gold Award in the Global Marketing Campaign category at the PATA Gold Awards 2024 held in Bangkok, Thailand on August 28.

The Asia-Pacific Travel Association (PATA) is the largest tourism cooperation organization in the Asia-Pacific region with 650 members, encompassing government agencies, tourism organizations, airlines, and the travel agencies in about 80 countries.

The PATA Gold Awards are prestigious awards in the tourism industry organized by PATA, recognizing outstanding projects in each field.

Jeju wellness tourism policy was highly acclaimed for its efforts to create an ecosystem of the tourism industry, such as establishing governance in public, private, and academia, enacting the first Ordinance in Korea, introducing a certification system, and nurturing experts.

Jeju-do received PATA Award for two years in a row, following last year's award for "Kareum Stay", a comprehensive brand for Jeju village tourism, proving the competitiveness and value of Jeju local tourism globally.
