The Jeju provincial government signed an MOU with Pledis Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as Pledis), a label (subsidiary) of HYBE, to co-produce promotional content for the Jeju island.

The MOU signing ceremony was held at the HYBE's headquarters in Yongsan on September 13.

The agreement contains revitalizing the Jeju's cultural tourism industry, production of K-pop content related to Jeju island, and establishing cooperative system to enhance the value of Jeju-do and Pledis.

Jeju plans to promote the island through K-pop concerts and content filiming through cooperation with Pledis, and create a new cultural tourism model that expands the K-pop industry in Jeju.

Jeju Governor said that "this MOU is expected to present an efficient inbound tourism strategy targeting both domestic and international tourists and set a new milestone in Jeju's cultural tourism."

Pledis is home to such artists as Baekho, Hwang Min-hyun, Seventeen, Bumzu, fromis_9, and TWS.

Jeju-do plans to appoint Seventeen's member Boo Seungkwan, who was born in Jeju, as an ambassador for Jeju.
