According to Pulse by Maeil Business News Korea,
The Korea Federation of SMEs (KBIZ) announced on Monday that it will kick off the 2024 Kbiz Leaders Forum on Tuesday, aimed at exploring strategies to enhance the global expansion of South Korea’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The forum, taking place until October 11 at the Haevichi Hotel in Jeju, will feature discussions on the impact of the U.S. presidential election on the Korean semiconductor industry.
It will also look into strategies for Korean SMEs entering the Vietnamese market, with insights provided by the Vietnamese ambassador to Korea.
More than 300 SME representatives from across various industries are expected to attend.
The event serves as a follow-up to the “Korean SME Convention,” which was held in May on the lawn of the Presidential Office in Yongsan, central Seoul, to support the globalization of SMEs.
Now in its 17th year since its inception in 2007, the Kbiz Leaders Forum will feature a keynote speech by Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and a panel discussion on the globalization of SMEs, which will include participation from key figures like Kim Seok-ki, chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the National Assembly.
“This event is designed to focus on the globalization of SMEs and to prepare programs that foster the vitality of SMEs and the future of Korea’s economy,” said Kim Ki-moon, chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs.
