According to Yonhap News,
The number of foreign tourists to Jeju has been on the rise since June after a continuous decline in the first half of this year.
Jeju said on August 17 that a total number of foreign tourists to Jeju rose by 13.1% from the same period last year to 529,437.
The number of foreign tourists declined by 21.5% in January and 23.4% in February this year. The decline continued from March to May. However, it has been on the rise since rebounding in June.
Jeju attributes the turnaround to its strategic marketing in China, Japan and Southeast Asia, improved accessibility and promotion targeting cruise tourists.
Jeju expects to see a further increase in the future as it plans to hold promotion fairs in China and strengthen campaigns on foreign companies.
