According to Yonhap News,
The Jeju Free International City Development Center (JDC) set up a plan for the marine leisure complex and then asked the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (MLTM) to reflect the plan on the government-led marina project, in a bid to evolve Jeju into a worldwide marine sports hub.
The JDC plans to invest a total of 596.6 billion won excluding land compensation costs to build a 1.38 million square meter-marine leisure complex.
The complex will include a berthage for 300 yachts, a clubhouse, harbor facilities, a marine park, an exhibition hall, a concert hall and commercial and accommodation facilities.
The establishment of the marine leisure complex, approved by the government in September, is included in the 2nd implementation plan of the JDC.
The JDC will discuss details with the relevant government agencies including the MLTM, after the final results of the feasibility test on the project are released within this month.
The candidate locations for the marina project include Sinyang, Gimnyeong, Jungmun, Seogwipo, Gangjeong and Hwasun.
