According to Yonhap News,
Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) inked a cooperation agreement in mid-February with Korea Industry Convergence Association (KINCOA) under the umbrella of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy to create synergy effects for convergence-related industries.
Both sides also agreed to launch marketing for the MICE industry which refers to meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions.
The government designated the Industrial Convergence Promotion Act last year to promote the industrial convergence by converging industries, products and services.
“We’d like to contribute to ushering in a new era of the tourism convergence industry by partnering JTO that established an industrial convergence, ahead of other regions,” said Choi Man-beom, Vice President of KINCOA.
JTO expects the agreement to facilitate the MICE industry as well as the industrial convergence.
