The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Development Corporation (JPDC) announced today that it successfully attracted the Asia Pacific meeting of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) to Jeju, which will be held April of 2015.

JPDC sent officials to the 40th IAH Congress in Australia last month to attract the Asia Pacific meeting to Jeju.

The regional meeting, which will be held at the International Convention Center Jeju, will draw about 500 underwater experts from 30 countries to give presentations and hold discussions and on-site visits. JPDC will also a Jeju world water forum during the meeting to promote excellence of Jeju underwater to the world.

IAH was established in 1956 to develop research and technology for preservation and use of underwater, and has 135 countries and 3,800 individuals as its members.
