The Jeju Free International City Development Center (JDC) announced Monday that it signed an agreement to establish the Myths and History Theme Park in Jeju with the Ramjeong Jeju Development Corporation, which was established by the Hong Kong Landing International Development Company and the Hong Kong Landing.

JDC finalized roles and responsibilities of each project developer in the A, R and H districts in the contract.

JDC plans to build a resort complex with a theme park and recreation and leisure facilities with themes of myths, history and culture from Europe and Asia.

JDC noted that the contract will alleviate local residents’ concerns about delayed development over last ten years and JDC’s financial stability, and added that it will contribute to consumption of local agricultural and livestock products and regional economy.

The Hong Kong Landing first asked for sales of total sites but to build a Korean traditional cultural complex with Jeju’s myth, history and culture, the JDC excluded the J district from sales.

For development of the J district, JDC plans to organize and operate an advisory committee which myth, history and culture experts will participate in.
