(JEJU = Newsis) Chuja Port development project, which aims to secure maritime security and provide shelter for fishing boats in time of emergency, will be pushed ahead, according to the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.

A total of KRW 5.2 billion will be invested in the development project, and it will commence its construction after the state-controlled coastal port initiative is established in January 2014.

201m of lighters wharf and 7,900㎡ of port site will be developed until the first half of 2015 in a bid to resolve disruptive issues.

The Chuja Port was designated as a state-controlled coastal port in August 2012 due to the revision of relevant harbor act. More projects of developing counter facilities (820m), berth facilities (722m) and port roads (245m) will commence soon after the state-controlled coastal port initiative is established.
