NIA to Build Training Institute in Jeju

According to Yonhap News,

(JEJU = Yonhap News) The National Information Society Agency (NIA) will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its training institute at the city of Jeju.

The NIA is scheduled to complete the construction of the training institute by next April. The institute will be a four-floor building with 4,956m2 gross floor area.

The NIA decided in December, 2011 to move its headquarters to Daegu and training institute to Jeju. The training institute will develop policies related to the nations’ informatization, promote healthy IT environment and solve digital divide.

Among nine institutes relocating to Jeju, the Training Institute of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation and the National Institute of Meteorological Research have already relocated to the city. The office buildings of the institutes under the National Taxation Service including the Government Employees Pension Service, NTS Customer Satisfaction Center and NTS Liquors License Aid Center are under construction.

Korea Foundation and Overseas Koreans Foundation have changed their plan of leasing their office buildings to building new office buildings, and will commence the construction as soon as they acquire lands for their new office buildings.
