(JEJU=NEWSIS) Jeju Special Self-Governing Province signed an MOU on running joint English camps with the Korea International School, NLCS Jeju and Branksome Hall Asia, all of which are international schools within Jeju Global Education City.

The MOU was signed with an aim to vitalize the Global Education City, as well as to raise public awareness. At the fourth all-round ministerial meeting last December, the government announced that local governments or provincial education authorities can jointly run language camps with schools.

The Jeju province and the three schools are intending to reduce cost burden for parents by setting tuition fees no higher than the education ministry’s set limit, and waiving the fees altogether for students from low income families or for those residing in the province.

The province will also set up a safety project plan, and will cooperate with the schools to ensure students’ safety.
