Google Introduces World Natural Heritage Jeju

According to Yonhap News,

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) Google held a press release on October 30 at the Jeju World Natural Heritage Center and announced that the natural landscape of Jeju and more than 350 pieces of cultural assets will be introduced around the world via the Google Map and Google Cultural Institute.

The Google Map will show the UNESCO world heritage sites including Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, Geomun Oreum and Manjanggul Cave along with the views of the Jeju streets.

The cultural assets include masterpieces of Jeju National Museum from the prehistoric period to the Joseon Dynasty. The online exhibition of the Jeju Haenyeo Museum can be enjoyed via the Google Cultural Institute.

The Google Cultural Institute has reached partnerships with other institutions including the Korean Art Museum Association, National Museum of Korea, Korean Film Archive and Korea Database Agency to show Korea’s various cultural assets to the world.

Google will now view 11,800 pieces of Korean artifacts online.
