According to Yonhap News,

(JEONJU=Yonhap News) A university in this southern provincial city said Thursday their students will hold what they call the "new hallyu festival" in South European countries to publicize the beauty and allure of Korea.

The cultural events, to be held in the European cities of Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon, from Friday to Feb. 13, will showcase the traditional Korean games, music and Taekwondo dance to the European audience. The students will also show K-pop performances throughout their itineraries, according to the Chonbuk National University in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province.

Hallyu refers to the global boom of Korean pop culture.

The participating students will also provide opportunities to the Europeans to experience Korea's traditional culture such as eating spicy food and wearing Korean traditional clothes.

An official from the university said the upcoming event will be the third following one in Atlanta, the United States and Baguio in the Philippines.

"We have prepared the hallyu promotion events to be suitable to each country's characteristics," the official said, adding "the cultural events will surely increase the creativity of the students and their global capabilities."
