(JEONJU=Yonhap News) The Jeonbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center will cooperate with Samsung to increase the competitiveness of the manufacturing companies.

The two will carry out the smart factory support project of five manufacturing companies in North Jeolla Province.

The project supports capital and human resources to regional small- and medium-sized manufacturing companies (SMEs) to establish and operate smart factories.

For the competitiveness of SMEs, the Jeonbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center and Samsung will focus on supporting the operation system, manufacturing automation, process simulation and nano molding technology of smart factories.

The innovation center plans to extend the number of participating companies to 15 if the project turns out to be effective.
