(JEONJU=Yonhap News) Jeonju city rolled up its sleeves together with local research centers and universities to tackle difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in North Jeolla.

Members of organizations relevant to industry-university-institute collaboration gathered at a local restaurant to hold a working-level meeting.

Staff from the Korea Institute of the Carbon Convergence Technology, CAMTIC, the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology North Jeolla Branch, the Jeonju IT&CT Industry Promotion Agency attended the meeting.

The gathering is a follow-up measure after participating members pledged to cooperate to support local SMEs in June.

Participants discussed ways to provide technological information developed by research institutes and share equipment with local SMEs.They also agreed to hold quarterly meetings to help strengthen competitiveness of small and medium sized businesses in the region.
