Eight North Jeolla Food Companies to Participate in Foodex Japan 2017

(JEONJU=Yonhap News) North Jeolla Province revealed Mar. 3 that 8 local companies will be participating in Foodex Japan 2017, set to be held from Mar. 7 to 10 at the Makuhari Messe convention center outside Tokyo in the neighboring city of Chiba.

At the event, 4 local companies that export bell peppers and tomatoes (Rosepia), nattokinase (Imsil Kongmaeul), raw perilla oil (Jeonju Organic), and seasoned laver (Gusan Badahyang) will exhibit 15 products at the province's own promotion center.

Also, at the Korean Venue, another 4 North Jeolla compnies that export ginseng chicken soup (Iksan Harim), yuja (yuzu) tea (Jeonju Goryeo Natural Foods), meat dumplings (Gimje Foodware), and self-heating meals (Jeonju Chakhan Eumsik) will introduce 16 products and meet with potential buyers.

The province hopes the event will serve as an opportunity for more North Jeolla companies to enter the Japanese market in the future, and help in the recovery of exports.

Foodex Japan is a representative food expo of Asia, where some 3,000 companies from 80 countries participate, and 77,000 buyers visit each year.
