According to Yonhap News,

(NAMWON=Yonhap News) Namwon's Beauty Industry Product Development Project, aimed at cultivating the local cosmetics industry into a new growth engine, has been selected to receive government funding.

The project uses plants and herbs indigenous to Jirisan mountain to develop functional materials and apply the new findings to cosmetic products.

Beauty products made from natural ingredients tend to receive positive reviews by consumers for higher levels of safety.

Leading the project is a consortium of Namwon City Government, local cosmetics firm Hisol, Namwon Cosmetics Industry Support Center, and the Woosuk University Institute for Industry-Academy Cooperation.

A total of KRW 2 billion will be injected into the project for the next 5 years, including KRW 1.4 billion from the national government.
