(IKSAN=Yonhap News) The Iksan General Business Center is set to open on July 13 at the National Industrial Complex in Yeongdeung-dong, Iksan-si, North Jeolla Province.
The new center, comprised of seven floors, including one underground, stands on a 6,000 square-meter site.
The southern branch of the Korea Institute of Lighting Technology (KILT), the Honam 3D-printing Manufacturing Innovation Support Center, and a Startup Incubating Center are set to move in.
In August 2018, a 160-room convention hotel and knowledge industry center are scheduled to open near the center.
During his congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony, Iksan Mayor Jeong Hun-yul said that he "expects the new business center, as the center of the national industrial complex structural enhancement project, will expand R&D foundations and provide comprehensive support to small and medium companies.
In commemoration of the new center, a Honam -area 3D-printing industrial exhibition will take place until July 15, where visitors can experience the latest technology in the industry and meet with expert consultants on how to start a business.
