(GUNSAN=Yonhap News) The 10th International Conference and Exhibition on Neutracuticals & Functional Foods (ISNFF 2017) is set to kick off on October 22 for a 4-day run at the Gunsan Convention Center (GSCO) in North Jeolla Province.

Co-organized by the Korea Food Industry Promotion Forum (KFIPF), the Rural Development Administration (RDA), Korea's national foof cluster Foodpolis, the Korean Society of Food Science and Technology (KOSFOST), Jeonbuk Institute for Food-Bio-industry (JIF), and the Clinical Trial Center for Functional Foods (CTCF2) of Chonbuk National University Hospital, the event will be attended by some 1,500 experts from 32 countries.

In particular, discussions are scheduled to take place on the theme of "convergence of medical and pharmaceutical fields for food and nutrition, healthcare industries, and illness prevention and treatment" in preparation for the fourth industrial revolution.

A science symposium will be held at 6 conference and exhibition halls, where participants will present some 850 studies on food, nutrition and medicine.
