North Jeolla to Support Local 'Hidden Champion' SMEs

(JEONJU=Yonhap News) North Jeolla Province announced February 2 that it is receiving applications for local 'Global Hidden Champion' export SMEs with a high levels of innovation and growth potential.

Selected SMEs will be supported during all stages of their development process so that they may grow into leading global companies.

Local SMEs that exported USD five million or more last year are eligible to apply, while innovation-type companies, such as business ventures, innobiz companies, and main biz companies, ma apply if their exports last year amount to at least USD one million.

Once selected, the companies will receive support for R&D and overseas marketing activities for the next four ears, as well as KRW 30 million per company in funding from the provincial government.

Applications can be submitted through the websites for the SME Export Support Center (www.exportcenter.go.kr), North Jeolla Province, or Jeonbuk Technopark.
