According to Yonhap News,

(GUNSAN=Yonhap News) The car ferry service between Gunsan Port in Jeollabuk-do and Port of Shidao in Shandong Province, China will go from running 3 times a week to six times a week in order to increase traffic and attract Chinese tourists.

Gunsan City announced on April 4 that the Gunsan - Qingdao car ferry will run 6 times a week.

Shidao International Ferry operates the 20,000-ton-capacity New Shidao Pearl (1,200 passengers, 230 TEU of cargo), and plans to order another ferry in the first half of 2018.

Shidao International Ferry began operations in April 2008, and ran on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Last year, it transported 37,216 TEU of cargo.

Gunsan City expects the increased operational days will have an economic effect of KRW 600 billion, create 1,142 jobs, invigorate the International Passenger Terminal and surrounding areas as well as attract an average of 500 visitors per day.

The city plans to carry out a port sale of the Gunsan Port in a public-private joint venture for the safe operation of the car ferry and to stimulate port activities.
