According to Yonhap News,

(JEONJU=Yonhap News) In pursuit of becoming a global cultural tourism city, Jeonju City will hold an American Culture Week in August.

On April 26, Jeonju City announced it will hold a week of cultural events from August 6 to 10 with U.S. Public Diplomacy Officer Garrett Wilkerson and party.

In 2016, the city held a French culture week, followed by a British culture week in 2017.

The American Culture Week will provide an opportunity for participants to experience America's culture of diversity and inclusiveness.

The week will comprise events representative of American culture including a hip-hop dance performance, Hawaiian ukulele performance, American photographers' exhibition, soul food cooking class as well as events where Jeonju artists can participate.

A U.S Embassy representative stated, "It is rare for a city to have culture week programs like Jeonju City," and added, "we are looking forward to an original and fresh event."

A Jeonju City representative remarked, "Jeonju has the number one cultural index in the world, and the event will further expand the cultural horizon of Jeonju residents. It will also provide citizens an opportunity to enjoy new cultures that are difficult to come by compared to large cities."
