According to Yonhap News,

(JEONJU=Yonhap News) Jeonbuk-do received KRW 163 billion from the government's first additional budget.

Jeonbuk-do Governor Song Ha-jin stated on May 21, "We were able to secure KRW 30 billion more than the initial KRW 70.4 billion budget discussed in the deliberation stage of the National Assembly."

This is due to the close cooperation between the province and politicians, and the money will go towards Gunsan's economic recovery.

KRW 21.75 billion will go towards supporting workers and local partners, KRW 40.28 billion will go towards the improvement of the industrial district and industrial structure and KRW 44.25 billion will go towards regional economic revitalization projects.

Especially with the addition of the economic crisis research cost to the budget, the province will be able to conduct a comprehensive review of the automotive and shipbuilding industries to come up with projects that will lead to the region's economic recovery.

However, there was disappointment that only KRW 21.7 billion was allocated to aid Gunsan's economic recovery following the closure of Gunsan Shipyard and GM Korea's Gunsan factory.
