SBC to push for "electric/autonomous vehicle cooperative complex" in Gunsan

According to Yonhap News,

(GUNSAN=Yonhap News) President Lee Sangjik of the Small and medium Business Corporation (SBC) said that "we will push for the formation of 'electric and self-driving car manufacturing cooperative complex' in Gunsan to help creating new growth-engines and jobs".

The president said "we will speedily push for measures to support the cooperative complex (cluster) to call back the young people to Gunsan, hit by the shutdown of GM plant and the closure of Hyundai Heavy shipyard" at a round-table conference with SMEs and startups held at the Jeonbuk Institute of Automotive convergence Technology in Gunsan.

SBC prepared the round-table conference to seek measures to create new growth engines and jobs in Gunsan, where industrial and employment crisis are taking a toll.

It was attended by representatives of twelve SMEs and startups and public officials from Jeonbuk government and Gunsan city office.

SBC presented a cooperative project utilizing policy fund, and support measures & implementation plan for SMEs and startups.

Jeonbuk government and Gunsan city explained a situation regarding a plan to implement a regulation free zone for electric/autonomous vehicles and plan for purchasing electric vehicles.

The representatives of SMEs and startups presented the status of electric/autonomous vehicle technology development, investment and production plan, and measures to make Gunsan a cooperative complex.
