Jeonbuk-do held an international forum on offshore wind power

(JEONJU=Yonhap News) Jeonbuk-do and Gunsan-si held an international forum on the subject of "Challenges and Implementation Measures for Korea's Offshore Wind Power to realize the vision of Saemangeum Renewable Energy Vision" at Gunsan Saemanguem Convention Center on April 24.

The forum was attended by about 200 participants from Denmark Embassy in Korea, Saemanguem Development Authority, Offshore wind power research institutions, corporations from home and abroad, and offshore wind power experts.

The forum was prepared to share the vision to foster the offshore wind power industry and develop technologies, as well as seeking business opportunities.

At the forum, there were presentations on the status of Korean offshore wind power market, trends of offshore wind power turbine, and demonstration of offshore wind power turbine, etc.

Jeonbuk-do and the Denmark embassy in Korea signed MOU on exchanges of renewable energy technologies and policies.

Jeonbuk-do governor said, "This is a global network forum to exchange the latest technology and knowledge on offshore wind power," adding that "we ask for support of experts to make Saemanguem the world's best renewable energy cluster."
