On May 3, Jeonbuk-do announced that it signed a Friendship Cooperation Agreement with Ca Mau Province, Vietnam.
It is the southernmost of Vietnam's provinces, and known for shrimp farming.
Jeonbuk-do plans to co-develop environment-friendly smart shrimp farming system.
Jeonbuk-do is set to increase exchanges with Vietnam, starting with establishing a trade center in Hanoi in October.
A government official said, "We plan to expand the network of friendship relations in Southeast Asia, and seek to build a network with Indonesia, Laos, and Myanmar."
