According to Yonhap News,

(GUNSAN=Yonhap News) The opening ceremony for the Research Center of the Plasma Technology Research Center of National Fusion Research Institute (NFRI) was held in National Industrial Complex in Gunsan-si, Jeonbuk-do on May 9.

Chairperson Wohn Kwang-yun of the National Research Council of Science & Technology (NST), Deputy Governor Lee Won-taek for Political Affairs of Jeonbuk-do, and Gunsan Mayor Kang Im-jun were present.

The Research Center consists of 3 floors in the gross floor area of 10,674 square meters, the site area of 25,770 square meters, and equipped with 28 labs and 22 research rooms.

NFRI plans to beef up research and seek cooperation with relevant industries.

President Yoo Suk-jae of NFRI said, "The research center is expected to back up the advanced R&D capabilities of the Plasma Technology Research Center," adding that "it will be an opportunity to take the upper hand in plasma technology domestically and internationally."
