(JEONJU=Yonhap News) On August 17, Jeonbuk-do announced that a working-group negotiation for economic exchange with Jiangsu Province, China bore fruits.

Jeonbuk-do and Jiangsu Province agreed to put efforts in jointly establishing Saemangeum Korea-China Industrial Cooperation Complex.

They will hold joint IR sessions on a regular basis, expand international academic exchanges, while Jiangsu Province conducts promotion activities to encourage Chinese companies make investment in Saemangeum Industrial Complex.

They will also push for opening of new sea routes between Gunsan port and Jiangsu Port.

The two sides, convinced that a new sea route will cut logistical cost, agreed to set up a working-level groups for mutual development.

An official from Jeonbuk-do said that "Jeonbuk-do and Jiangsu province have maintained close relationship in the past 25 years," adding that "We will speedily implement what we agreed in this negotiation."
