According to Yonhap News,

Korea National Food Cluster (Foodpolis) announced an investment plan on Aug 11 to construct a new research facility, which will take the role of technology development, bringing new HMR products and services to market.

Funneling KRW 4.5 billion into the plan, Foodpolis remodels part of the existing facilities within Iksan Food Cluster and turns it into a HMR tech center, which will spread across a 2,260㎡ business site.

The center, equipped with 73 research machines, will advance technologies commercially applicable to HMR pasteurization, freeze and thaw, packaging, storage and distribution. They’ll also step into the process of product development to reflect the latest market trends home and abroad, along with technology support for quality inspection.

The project has launched in recent days and comes to an end in March next year. Head of Foodpolis said “I’m looking forward to seeing the center, standing at the forefront of the HMR industry, which has recently witnessed steep sales growth due to COVID-19 led social distancing mandates.”
