Korea Energy, a PV module manufacturer, signed an investment MOU with the city of Gunsan on Aug 20 for building a new production plant in North Jeolla Province. With KRW 43 billion in total, Korea Energy plans to establish a new facility on a 21500 ㎡ site in the second industry cluster near Gunsan city. Once the construction process is over to get the new plant operated next year, nearly 270 new jobs are likely to be added.

Gunsan city pledged to give strong administrative and financial support to the investor, teaming up with local authorities that include North Jeolla Province and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation.

City mayor at the MOU signing ceremony said “The investment Korea Energy made will prime the pump for Gunsan city and Saemangeum, helping them serve as a hub of renewable energy business. The authorities involved are ready to provide full backup to scale them up.”
