According to Yonhap News,

North Jeolla Province, Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency and Gunsan city signed a partnership deal on Jan 19 with five business entities, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co.,Ltd, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Hyundai Rotem, LindeKorea and Hankook Special Gases Co., Ltd for the establishment of what’s called ‘Saemangeum Green Hydrogen products Production Cluster’, an industry cluster manufacturing hydrogen products in Saemangeum.

Under such deal, the public agencies engaged and their counterparts will team up to form a production hub in which the integrated form of hydrogen production, storage, transportation and utilization is available until the year 2027.

The governor at the MOU signing ceremony said “Hydrogen economy is not optional. It’s a requirement on the path toward emission neutral green economy. We’ll spare no effort to give all sorts of financial and administrative supports to turn Saemangeum into a hub of the shifting energy paradigm.”
