UFood signed an MOU, the 100th investment the city has attracted thus far, with Iksan city on Feb 26 over the establishment of its manufacturing facility inside the Iksan Food Cluster, called Foodpolis, a city official said.

Being an official partner supplying beef to Kakao and Coupang stores, UFood, a meet processing company, unveiled its investment plan spending nearly KRW 6.5 billion on the establishment of a new production facility on a 12,332㎡ plot within the Foodpolis by the end of this year.

Another food processor, Yegawon, which has produced chicken meet, agreed to invest KRW 4.8 billion in manufacturing plant construction project inside the cluster.

“Our cluster has scaled up in a brief period time, welcoming the 100th new residents since Foodpolis has started its operation three years ago. To make the cluster the hub of Korea’s food industry, we’ll spare no effort to provide full support for our investors.”, the city mayor said.
