According to Yonhap News,

North Jeolla Province announced the MOU signing ceremony on Apr 28 with the city of Seoul over a co-marketing partnership (aka partnership marketing) to develop a marketing campaign for MICE industry. MICE is an acronym which stands for Meeting, Incentives, Convention and Exhibition and business tourism at its finest, aimed at bringing top professionals together from every sector in an enhanced, tailor-made hospitality setting.

Assessing the economy-wide impact of the MICE sector on tourism income and employment, MICE is a profitable source of business in the hospitality industry and one of the fastest growing segments as its per capita consumption is substantially higher than that generated any other types of travel sectors.

The partnership deal aims to help the pandemic-hit MICE industry bounce back from the shock as early as possible and to provide business support programs to boost industry competitiveness. Under the contract agreed upon, both, North Jeolla Province and Seoul city, will integrate and make better use of recourses in the culture, entertainment, art and tourism industries and their infrastructure, so as to further develop tourism attractions and innovative products.

North Jeolla Province, set to host 2023 Asia-Pacific Masters Games and the World Scout Jamboree 2023, is planning to turn the global festivals into a great opportunity to gain momentum to attract MICE events at home and abroad.
